Arab Tourism Union to set up HQ in Riyadh
RIYADH, July 26, 2016
The Arab Tourism Experts Union has officially selected Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia, as its headquarters, said a report.
The union has also considered opening new ranch headquarters in a number of Arab countries, said a report in Arab News.
The countries that represent the general commission of the union include Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Iraq, Yemen, Oman, Tunisia, Algeria, Kuwait and Lebanon.
The report also noted that members of the union’s secretariat general were also elected with the former Algerian minister of tourism, Abdulqader ben Graina, as chairman of the union; Khalid Al-Rasheed as his deputy; and other 20 assistant secretary generals in order to achieve the aims and objectives of the tourism union.
The tourism sector in the kingdom is doing well as Saudi Arabia is ranked first in the Middle East and 36th internationally in the size of the travel and tourism investment.
