Qatar Airways has announced plans to fly direct to Las Vegas from Doha, said a report citing a spokesperson.

According to a report in Doha News, a specific date has not been announced yet.

Qatar Airways CEO Akbar Al Baker first mentioned the notion of a Las Vegas route this week at the International Air Transport Association (IATA) annual meeting in Dublin, the report said.

Currently, no Gulf carrier flies directly to Las Vegas.

The news comes as Qatar Airways just launched its 10th route into the US, direct from Doha to Atlanta, Georgia, it said.
