Emirates to introduce B777 on Tunisia service

DUBAI, May 17, 2016

Emirates is set to enhance its on-board experience and increase capacity on its Tunisian service with the introduction of a larger Boeing 777-300 aircraft starting from June 2.

The Boeing 777-300 will replace the current Airbus A340-300 used on the route, and offer customers even more on-board comfort, entertainment and seats, including an updated inflight entertainment system. The new aircraft has 12 lie flat seats in First Class and 42 in Business Class, and due to its bigger size, 310 spacious seats in Economy Class.

Tunisian travellers and visitors to the country can look forward to Emirates’ award-winning ice entertainment system, offering over 2,500 channels of on-demand audio and visual entertainment, from the latest movies, TV shows, music, audio books and games.

Customers will continue to enjoy the famous on-board hospitality from Emirates multi-national cabin crew, including Tunisian nationals, as well as gourmet regionally inspired dishes with complimentary beverages. Emirates’ passengers travelling on all its flights from Africa including Tunis have the added bonus of a generous baggage allowances, with Economy Class customers receiving two pieces of luggage of up to 23 kg each, while Business Class and First Class customers can take two bags of up to 32kg each.

Traders and businesses who import and export goods, will also benefit from a larger cargo hold on the Boeing 777 aircraft, offering up to 23 tonnes of capacity per flight. Some of the key exports products being carried on Emirates SkyCargo from Tunis include fruits and vegetables, fresh and frozen seafood, electronic equipment, truffles and dates. Imports include electronics.

Since October 29, 2006, when the first service to Tunis was inaugurated, Emirates carried over 2.2 million passengers and more than 50,000 tonnes of cargo to date. The airline currently operates five weekly flights to Tunis, connecting travellers to destinations in the Middle East, GCC, West Asia, Asia Pacific region and the US via its Dubai hub.

EK 749 departs Dubai every Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 0725hrs and arrives in Tunis at 1050hr. The return flight, EK 749 departs Tunis at 1230hrs and lands in Dubai at 2350hrs. - TradeArabia News Service
