Qatar Airways joins hands with Kidzmondo Doha
DOHA, February 28, 2016
Qatar Airways has announced that it will sponsor the airline interactive module at KidzMondo Doha, when the entertainment/educational children’s park opens in Doha later this year.
KidsMondo is a simulated city, run entirely by children, who staff roles such as baker, fire fighter, store keeper and now, airline pilot and airport check in agent.
At KidzMondo Doha, Qatar Airways will offer a complete travel experience for children and passengers as well as airline staff. Children in the role of airport agent will issue boarding passes to children-passengers at a replica of Hamad International Airport’s check-in counter. Children will play the role of cabin crew, learning about the safety and service standards required of all aviation professionals, and other children will live out the excitement of being a pilot, in a Qatar Airways cockpit. There will be a specially-adapted real Qatar Airways aircraft to set the stage for both passengers and staff on board. Children will also be able to explore the plane, examine its different parts, and become familiar with the daily tasks required of Qatar Airways pilots and crew as they lead the global air space.
Ehab Amin, senior vice president commercial - Qatar, Qatar Airways said: “Our partnership with Kidzmondo Doha is a natural bond between the national airlines and a leader in edutainment because we both share the same mission of supporting education; a vital development pillar to achieving Qatar’s 2030 National Vision and building a better future for young generations. The initiative will give young travellers a chance to experience what it’s like to travel to Qatar Airway’s 150 global destinations, whether that’s from the comfort of our cabins, as cabin crew, or as a pilot.
Amin added: “This is also a great opportunity for us to thank the Qatari community and give back to the people who have given us so much, for their continuous support of Qatar Airways.”
Salam Al Shawa, senior vice president marketing & corporate communications, Qatar Airways said: “It is our honour to partner with KidzMondo Doha and sponsor the aircraft and airline display in the park. We could think of no better partner to help bring the idea of ‘Going Places Together’ to life than KidzMondo Doha, where children will be able to make their own world, and figure out their place in the real world. We hope the families of Doha enjoy their KidzMondo experience, and that the experience inspires the desire for continued exploration around our big, beautiful world – on Qatar Airways, of course.”
Ali Kazma, chairman of KidzHolding and founder of the KidzMondo concept said: “We are looking to create awareness in children through playful learning, to unleash their imagination and creativity. Qatar has always been a strategic market in the GCC region and through this partnership with Qatar Airways, we expect to achieve immense success. We are happy that our efforts dovetail with Qatar’s National Vision 2030 to help boost social, economic, human and environmental development.”
Built on a total indoor area of about 8,000 sq m, KidzMondo Doha will partner with more than 60 brands that will sponsor various activities in the kids’ city. The park will open its doors this year in the Mall of Qatar.
The theme parks are benefiting from a growing need across the world for unique experiences aimed at children and youth that combine entertainment and education. KidzMondo is actively present in Beirut and Istanbul, with expansion plans across the GCC including countries like UAE, Kuwait, Azerbaijan, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Morocco and Algeria amongst others. – TradeArabia News Service
