Qatar Airways...catering to passenger demand

Qatar Airways to boost Bucharest flights

DOHA, February 23, 2016

Qatar Airways is celebrating five years of service to Romania with doubling of flights on its Doha-Bucharest route this summer, enhancing the service from a daily to double-daily offering.

First commencing service on January 17, 2011, the daily scheduled service is set to increase this summer to a 10 weekly offering from June 2 and to 14 flights per week from August 1.

Offering enhanced connectivity and new flight times for passengers to and from Romania, the new flights will improve connectivity within the Qatar Airways network with the Middle East, India, Asia and Australia, including Qatar Airways' newest network additions this year of Adelaide and Sydney.

Qatar Airways group chief executive, Akbar Al Baker, said: “As a global airline, we are committed to connecting Romania to our worldwide network of more than 150 destinations through our award-winning hub and home, Hamad International Airport. As such, we are delighted to be celebrating the fifth anniversary since Qatar Airways commenced its direct flights to Bucharest, by increasing our capacity and frequency on this route from a daily to double-daily service, connecting business and leisure passengers to Doha and onwards, through seamless transfers within one of the world’s newest airport.”

The Bucharest-Doha route is served by an Airbus A320 aircraft, offering individual seat-back television screens which provide all passengers with the next-generation, interactive on board entertainment system, Oryx One, featuring a choice of up to 2,000 entertainment options.

Passengers can use any transfer time to take advantage of the many activities and services available at Hamad International Airport, from the free wi-fi, airside swimming pool and play areas for children, through to the multiple quiet areas in which passengers can relax, as well as the amazing array of duty free shopping and dining options.

One of the fastest growing airlines operating one of the youngest fleets in the world, Qatar Airways recently launched an emotive and modern brand campaign  - Going Places Together - to reflect its core values as a contemporary and innovative company that is really going places and wants nothing more than to inspire its passengers to do the same.

Qatar Airways is now in its 19th year of operations and operates a modern fleet of 177 aircraft flying to more than 150 key business and leisure destinations across six continents. – TradeArabia News Service
