Mövenpick Hotels chief to step down

BAAR, Switzerland, February 19, 2016

The chief executive officer of Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts is set to step down from the leadership position after 17 years of contribution to the company's growth and success.

Jean-Gabriel Pérès will support the transition in leadership  and will continue to make his extensive experience available to the hotel management company as a member of the board of directors, said a statement.

The board has initiated the search for a new CEO, supported by Egon Zehnder Executive Search, it said.

A decision is expected to be reached later this year. Pérès will continue to serve as CEO until his successor assumes leadership.

During Pérès’s tenure as CEO, the firm underwent a transformative evolution from a mainly European-based hotel company with a leased hotel portfolio to a modern asset-light management company with major presence in Europe and the Middle East and a strong entry into Africa and Asia. - TradeArabia News Service
