Napco wins Oman resort contract

MUSCAT, January 10, 2016

National Aluminium Products Company (Napco), one of the leading extruders of aluminium profiles in the GCC, has been signed up as the official extruder for the upcoming Anantara Al Jabal Al Akhdar Resort in Oman.

The company was appointed by a renowned European firm known for its innovative architectural aluminium concepts, to extrude doors and windows for the premier resort by Thai luxury hospitality brand Anantara Hotels, Resorts & Spas.

Located 2,000 m above sea level on Saiq Plateau in the Al Jabal Al Akhdar area, The Anantara Al Jabal Al Akhdar Resort will feature 82 authentic luxurious room and 33 high-end villas combining one, two and the resorts three bedroom royal mountain villa each with their own private pool.

Additional resort facilities will include a spa, a fitness centre, a children’s club, a library, six dining outlets, an onsite chef’s garden, and a souk.

On the contract win, Robert Holtkamp, the chief executive of Napco, said its association with landmark projects of this scale further reinforces the company's reputation as a leading extruder in the region.

Napco has been part of several major projects in Oman, the most recent being the Saraya Bandar Jissah, a premium mixed-used development in the sultanate, he noted.

"We signed major deals with several high-profile projects in Oman and the region in 2015 and look forward to sustain the momentum in 2016 with the aim to become one of the GCC’s top five extruders," remarked Holtkamp.

Napco, he said, was delighted to see a surge in new luxury commercial properties in the sultanate and will continue to offer its services to the country’s expanding hospitality projects.

"Within the region, Dubai is our vital market where the current portfolio includes Citywalk, an upcoming retail destination on the junction of Al Wasl and Safa Roads; Onyx Tower, a three-tower commercial project close to Emaar Business Park on Sheikh Zayed Road; and Dubai Design District (d3), an ambitious and innovative purpose-built destination for creatives," he remarked.

In addition, Napco is working on Abu Dhabi Plaza, a mixed-use development underway in Astana, Kazakhstan.

The company's list of developments include the Supreme Court in Muscat and Salalah Airport (Oman), the Dubai International Airport expansion, the Burj Khalifa and the Al Rayyan Complex (UAE), he added.-TradeArabia News Service
