Andraws.. expects further growth in business this year

Wyndham to expand UAE portfolio

ABU DHABI, January 4, 2016

Hospitality chain Wyndham Group intends to expand its operations in the UAE with plans to open a new hotel in Dubai in the first half of 2016, the general manager of Tryp by Wyndham Abu Dhabi Hotel has said.

Milad Andraws expects the number of tourists to Abu Dhabi to increase in 2016 given the emirate’s advanced facilities and infrastructure as well as the services offered by Etihad and the new Abu Dhabi airport, which will be launched later this year. A tour ship unit at Port Zayed and the planned international museums on Saadiyat Island also play a key role in activating tourism in the emirate, he added.

“The hotel performed exceptionally well during the first eight months of its operations, recording an occupancy rate of 81 per cent,” he noted.

Europe, mainly Germany and the UK, are the main markets for the hotels in Abu Dhabi and China has also become a key market for the emirate’s hotels, with the expected the number of Chinese tourists to surge by nearly 25 per cent in 2016.

Andraws expects further growth in business this year based on early bookings and major events organised by the Abu Dhabi Tourism and Culture Authority in collaboration with the Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Centre and Etihad Airways.

The hotel is looking to participate in the Berlin Travel Market and other local and global events this year to attract more customers to the hotel. – TradeArabia News Service
