Jalboot..showcasing its services at the Qatar Boat Show

Abu Dhabi's Jalboot sails into Qatar International Boat Show

DUBAI, November 10, 2015

Jalboot Marine Network (Jalboot), which operates Abu Dhabi’s only private scheduled passenger ferry service, has made its maiden debut at the Qatar International Boat Show (QIBS) that runs in the Doha’s Mourjan Marina, Lusail City until November 14.

The company is at the show, in partnership with Qatar’s Sora Marine, to demonstrate its marine transport credentials and expand its region-wide industry network.

Commenting on their participation, Mohammed Roestali, general manager of Jalboot said, “It is a privilege to showcase the Jalboot ferry at the Qatar International Boat Show. We at Jalboot strive to set the bar in terms of maritime transportation in the region and are encouraged by the uptake of our service in Abu Dhabi since the soft launch in October. Our partnership with an esteemed company such as Sora Marine allows us to obtain great insight from top players in the maritime industry as well as expand our knowledge and network in the Middle East.”

Sora Marine, a well-established and recognised Qatari company, has a wealth of experience supporting the country’s marine and maritime industry through services, such as marine public transportation, consultation, training programmes, ship management and inspections.

Jalboot is presenting its 16.7 metre catamaran during the show. The boat is fully enclosed, air-conditioned and boasts panoramic windows for passengers to take in the view from their leather, business class-style seating. Propelled by high speed twin water jets and two fuel efficient diesel engines of 700 brake horse power (bhp) each, the ferry can complete a full emergency stop within two boat lengths from its maximum speed of up to 35 nautical miles per hour (35 knots).  The Jalboot ferry is based on a latest generation German design, custom-made in the UAE to Jalboot specifications and can accommodate up to 42 passengers and three crew members.

In addition to the ferry service, the company provides private and commercial boat charters. – TradeArabia News Service
