Sabah (R) and Bazin (L) discuss portfolio expansion plans

Action Hotels plans to expand mid-market property portfolio

KUWAIT, October 4, 2015

Action Hotels, a leading three- and four-star hotel developer the Middle East and Australia, has revealed plans to expand its mid-economy hotels portfolio by rolling out properties under the management of AccorHotels.

Sheikh Mubarak A M Al Sabah, the group's founder and chairman, held high-level talks at the White Palace in Kuwait with Sebastien Bazin, AccorHotels’ chairman and CEO.

Sheikh Mubarak confirmed that six hotels are already operating and another five are in the pipeline across Accor’s ibis, Novotel and Mercure brands including new hotels in Melbourne and Brisbane in Australia and Sohar, Oman, completing by end of 2015.

Sheikh Mubarak commented: “There is strong demand for economy and mid-economy hotels throughout the region, a trend we recognised way back in 2005 and stand committed to today. Indeed, we founded Action Hotels to address this very clear market opportunity and to develop midscale and economy hotels in the Middle East."

“Furthermore, we are delighted to welcome Bazin and the Accor delegation, in the presence of the French Ambassador Christian Nakhle, to discuss further expanding our already solid relationship beyond our 11 hotels,” he said. – TradeArabia News Service
