New radar system to boost air safety in Bahrain

MANAMA, August 4, 2015

New equipment that warns of potential sandstorms, strong winds and heavy rains has been installed at the Bahrain International Airport (BIA). The BD680,000 ($1.8 million) Radar Device to Measure Atmospheric Wind and Temperature measures temperatures and wind speed in the atmosphere in a bid to improve safety at the airport, said a report in the Gulf Daily News (GDN), our sister publication.
