Dusit Thani Abu Dhabi, a luxurious business hotel in the UAE capital, has appointed Desmond Hatton as its new general manager.

Hatton’s responsibilities will include overseeing the performance, strategic direction and day-to-day operations of the 533 room property, which includes a world class portfolio of food and beverage (F&B) offerings including Benjarong, the hotel’s Thai restaurant, Namm Spa and over 47,500 sq ft of function space.

A native of Ireland, Hatton brings a wealth of experience with a career spanning over 34 years. He has held progressive management roles within leading hotels and resorts including the Shangri-La resorts in Fiji, Malaysia, Philippines and the extensive Shangri-La Barr Al Jissah Resort & Spa in Oman. His career has also spanned multiple hospitality disciplines in kitchen, F&B, rooms and accounting in Germany, Switzerland, Saudi Arabia and Turkey.

He most recently held the position of general manager at Dusit Thani Maldives before joining Dusit Thani Abu Dhabi.
