myRoom...new energy-efficient lighting controls by Lutron
Lutron launches myRoom for Middle East hotel industry
DUBAI, May 18, 2015
Lutron, a global lighting control expert, plans to launch its innovative lighting, temperature and shading control solutions - myRoom - for the Middle East hotel industry.
The company will introduce its lighting solution at a special hospitality industry presentation in Dubai, UAE, on May 19 at the Four Seasons Resort.
Lutron works with most of the major hotel groups in the key hospitality markets around the world, including the GCC, providing control systems for guestrooms, public areas, restaurants and amenities such as spas and conference facilities, as well as the back of the house.
The company is launching its myRoom solutions to meet the need for hotels in the region to reduce energy consumption and manage costs. It also aims at enhancing guest experience and comfort by offering a high degree of personal control over the guestroom environment.
In addition, Lutron solutions utilise guest presence detection to save energy by turning lights off when a room is unoccupied or initiating HVAC (heating, ventilation, airconditioning) setbacks when a room is unsold.
MyRoom is a guestroom management system for light, temperature and blind control that integrates with property management and building management systems. The solutions are contemporary-design, energy-efficient control options that help differentiate a property or hotel, where guests can step into a room in which lights and shades automatically adjust to a predetermined welcome scene. Lutron intuitive control solutions also ensure that guests can easily adjust the environment with a touch of a button, allowing tactile and audible feedback, automatic programming, control and comfort.
MyRoom saves energy, reduces operating costs and increases guest satisfaction and loyalty. Through the options of myRoom prime and myRoom plus, the solution is available for any type of hotel room.
Lutron is already providing lighting control and window systems solutions to some of the leading hotel properties in the region, including the Rosewood Abu Dhabi; The Ritz-Carlton Abu Dhabi; Four Seasons Resort Dubai; The Palace Downtown Dubai; Four Seasons Hotel Doha; and The Regent Doha.
Shadi Kharouf, Middle East sales director for Lutron, said: “Light and temperature control plays a vital role in the overall guest experience of a hotel room and lighting alone typically accounts for 25 per cent of an organisation’s electricity consumption. Control of the room environment by the guest – and by the hotel when the room is unoccupied – adds value and significantly reduces energy costs. Dubai is at the heart of the region’s hospitality sector and a world class hospitality hub, with World Expo 2020 stimulating further strong growth. When guests stay in Dubai, they expect a very high quality experience and hotels need to deliver this experience elegantly, sustainably and cost effectively and myRoom helps to meet this need.” – TradeArabia News Service
