Aer Lingus picks Mercator accounting system

DUBAI/DUBLIN, May 7, 2015

Mercator, a leading technology provider to airlines, has announced that Aer Lingus Group, Ireland's value carrier airline, has selected Mercator's RAPID Passenger solution to speed up its automation of passenger revenue accounting.

Aer Lingus, which has a 50-strong fleet and carried over 11 million passengers in 2014, decided to replace its existing in-house passenger revenue accounting system with RAPID Passenger to facilitate greater operational efficiency, maximize productivity, integrate revenue accounting information with other management information systems and provide meaningful business insights.

The implementation of RAPID Passenger will enable Aer Lingus to scale and automate its revenue accounting processes, achieve high accuracy in proration, tax and interline revenue management and meet stringent auditing and industry standards.

Rosemary Queenan, manager, Revenue Accounting at Aer Lingus said: "We need a revenue accounting solution that is scalable in response to the growth of our company and passenger volumes.
