Halal tourism...burgeoning market
CrescentRating, HalalTrip to launch new products at ATM
DUBAI, April 8, 2015
CrescentRating and HalalTrip, leading authorities on Halal tourism, will launch new products at the Arabian Travel Market (ATM) in Dubai next month.
The two companies will introduce a number of new products over the course of the four-day event to facilitate the growth of the Halal travel market.
Fazal Bahardeen, CEO of CrescentRating and HalalTrip, said the new products will be “innovations that enhance the experience of the Muslim travellers”.
“This year ATM will be focusing on family travel and advances in technology and we will launch products which will showcase the integration of the latest technology,” Bahardeen said.
“Our focus as a business is to increase the interaction in the digital space as we are seeing Muslim travellers across the world, especially in the Middle East, increasing their use of technology through smartphones and tablets,” he said.
The company recently launched the “MasterCard-CrescentRating Global Muslim Travel Index (GMTI) 2015”, a comprehensive research released on the sector, in which Malaysia took the top spot on the list in the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) destinations while Singapore came first in the non-OIC destinations.
The study also revealed that in 2014, this segment was valued at $145 billion with 108 million Muslim travellers representing 10 per cent of the entire tourism economy. This is forecasted to grow to 150 million visitors by 2020 and 11 per cent of the market segment with a market value projected to grow to $200 billion.
The Halal tourism companies will be exhibiting at the ATM from May 4 to 7 at the Dubai International Convention & Exhibition Centre. – TradeArabia News Service
