Alila Hotels...second hotel in Oman

Oman fund plans five-star resort in Salalah

SALALAH, March 4, 2015

Oman Investment Fund (OIF) plans to develop a five-star Alila Salalah Resort in the Dhofar governorate’s Mirbat.

Due to open in the second half of 2017, Alila Salalah will be a unique luxury destination resort and will include a luxury boutique hotel with 125 keys, comprising 100 private suites and 25 villas of different sizes. There will also be a family day centre, a members club, a diving club, a selection of fine dining and a spa and wellness centre.

Through formation of a joint venture company called Alil Salalah SAOC, OIF will realise the project in partnership with a local Omani investor.

The resort will be run by international hotel operator Alila Hotels and Resorts – its second luxury development in Oman.

Hassan Al Nabhani, CEO of OIF and chairman of Alil Salalah SAOC, welcomed the venture at an agreement signing ceremony in Muscat on Monday.

“We are extremely proud to announce this investment that will significantly enhance the product offering and attractiveness of Dhofar and Salalah as a major tourism destination. The resort will attract new visitors to the governorate providing yet additional growth opportunities to the local market,” Nabhani said. – TradeArabia News Service
