Gulf Air wins award for electronic flight bags

Bahrain’s national carrier Gulf Air's electronic flight bags were recognised at the MEET ICT 2014 Recognition Awards.

It received a MEET ICT Excellence award for best mobile application, said a report in the Gulf Daily News (GDN), our sister publication.

Receiving the award from Transportation and Telecommunications Minister Kamal Ahmed, Gulf Air director of information technology Dr Jassim Haji said, "On behalf of the entire Gulf Air family, I am honoured to receive this award.

"It is a reflection of our ongoing and longstanding drive to enhance the aviation and travel experience with the latest technology solutions.

"Our recently launched electronic flight bags facilitate the management and processing of Gulf Air's flight-critical information while increasing operational efficiency and eliminating paper-based flight materials.

"This is in keeping with our mission to not only provide enhanced travel solutions but to do so responsibly and with regard to our environment," he added.

Gulf Air's electronic flight bags offer advanced information management and deliver more accurate aircraft performance calculations.
