Hilton helps refurbish school lab

DUBAI, October 30, 2014

Hilton Hotels Dubai, a luxurious five-star resort in the UAE emirate, has refurbished two computer labs at the National Charity School in Garhoud as part of its local community service.

The hotel formed an action team of employees and department heads to improve the school’s facilities and to nurture student achievements. "The aim of this team will be to contribute to a better future for the local community and education," said Andreas Searty, cluster general manager.

More than 150 employees participated in the activity by providing new devices along with maintaining student’s desks, repairing and painting furniture and facilities at the school.

Hilton has always strived to have a long-standing and positive influence on the communities where it operates, and the people it employs and serves around the world. The Global Week of Service is an expression of the company’s vision to fill the earth with the light and warmth of hospitality, and build on Conrad Hilton’s legacy of serving others, the company said.

This year, Hilton Worldwide participated in more than 3,000 hands-on service projects globally. Global Week of Service is the hotel’s largest annual volunteer service initiative and brings together team members from across its offices and hotel properties, helping to strengthen the company’s connections with its local communities. – TradeArabia News Service
