Dubai Ferry offers new tourist route
DUBAI, October 2, 2014
The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) of Dubai, UAE, has launched a new tourist route during weekends for the Dubai Ferry service from Al Mamzar marine transport station.
Hussein Khansaheb, director of marine transport at RTA Public Transport Agency, RTA, said: “The Public Transport Agency is always keen on operating scheduled tours for Dubai Ferry at both Dubai Marina and Ghubaiba stations. At the behest of the Dubai Ferry commuters, we have decided to expand the scope of marine services and access new destinations by operating new tourist trip for Dubai Ferry in Al Mamzar area.”
The new tourist route will be operated during weekends (Thursdays and Fridays) at 4.30 pm. The trip, which lasts for an hour, will cost Dh75 ($20.41) for the gold class and Dh50 ($13.610 for the silver class, said Khansaheb.
Dubai Ferry is the largest RTA marine transit mode in Dubai, with four boats currently in operation and an additional one will added at Ghubaiba station.
Dubai Ferry, which is an express tourist means of transport to access new areas, serves Dubai Creek and the coastline stretching along Jumeirah beaches, in addition to Dubai Marina, Jumeirah Beach Residence, waterfront projects and Al Mamzar area. - TradeArabia News Service
