Jordanian, Saudi firms mull low-cost carrier

AMMAN, September 2, 2014

Jordanian and Saudi businessmen are considering setting up of a joint project for a low-cost airline, a report said.

The joint airline will link Jordan and Saudi Arabia, Saudi-Jordanian Businessmen Council chairman Mohammad Al Audah told The Jordan Times.

A feasibility study for the project is currently under way, he added.

Investors will also consider operating regionally, he said, indicating that there are businesspeople in the field of aviation engaged in the talks.

Businessmen from the two countries discussed options to operate regionally, Al Audah said, adding that the project may start in the first half of 2015.
