Gulf Hotels-Kontra in interior renovations deal

Manama, August 26, 2014

Gulf Hotels Group has signed an agreement with Kontra, a division of Mohammed Jalal and Sons, awarding the latter a contract to carry out the interior renovations of the Gulf Executive Residence and the Gulf Hotel's South Wing building.

The agreement was signed by Gulf Hotels Group chief executive Aqeel Raees, and Mohammed Jalal and Sons director Sami Jalal during a ceremony held at the Gulf Hotels Group office, said a report in the Gulf Daily News (GDN), our sister publication.

The signing of the renovation agreement signalled the start of a 15-month refurbishment programme that will modernise the hotel's accommodation facilities, with the interior designs having been completed by Dubai-based WA International.

"The renovations in the Gulf Hotel's South Wing will be completed by the end of next month whereas the phased refurbishment of the Gulf Executive Residence will continue until August next year," Raees said.

"The newly-renovated rooms will help the hotel maintain its position as the leading five-star hotel in Bahrain and enable the Gulf Hotel to face increased competition in the market," he added. - TradeArabia News Service
