Rotana hotels initiate ‘peak load campaign’

Three Rotana group hotels have partnered with Dubai Electricity & Water Authority (Dewa) to raise awareness about the high levels of electricity and water consumption.
The ‘Peak Load Campaign’ aims to educate guests and colleagues on the importance of avoiding the use of electrical appliances and devices during the peak load hours, between 12—5 pm, as Dewa has to increase its power generation capacity during these hours, a statement said.
As part of the initiative, Villa Rotana, Rimal Rotana and Rihab Rotana will distribute promotional sticky notes to the guests at the time of check in by attaching it on the card keys folder, it said.
The campaign is extended to internal colleagues as well by distributing the same and showcased in colleague’s cafeteria, locker rooms and accommodation, the statement said.
Kinan Al Ghraoui, general manager of Villa,Rimal and Rihab Rotana, said: "Instilling a culture of energy conservation within our hotel and colleagues accommodation is our primary objective while also guiding our guests and colleagues to efficiently balance their electricity usage during peak-load hours.
