Manama, February 2, 2014

Gulf Air has said its flight to Bahrain was diverted back to Thiruvananthapuram after experiencing a bird strike shortly after takeoff.

It clarified that its flight GF 061 on January 31 did not make an emergency landing as reported earlier, said a report in the Gulf Daily News (GDN), our sister publication.

“As a standard precautionary measure, the aircraft was diverted back to Thiruvananthapuram International Airport for inspection,” the airline said.

“The aircraft has subsequently been declared fully serviceable and returned to Bahrain.” - TradeArabia News Service
