Dubai, September 26, 2011
Jumeirah Group, Dubai-based luxury hospitality company, has announced the official opening of its first hotel in continental Europe, the Jumeirah Frankfurt.
This is the fourth Jumeirah hotel to open this year after Jumeirah Zabeel Saray in Dubai, Jumeirah Himalayas Hotel in Shanghai and Jumeirah Dhevanafushi in the Maldives, said a top official of Jumeirah group, a member of Dubai Holding.
'In the next nine months Jumeirah will open a further hotels in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, the Maldives, Baku and Kuwait,' revealed executive chairman Gerald Lawless.
Commenting on the launch, Lawless said the 218-room hotel at the heart of Frankfurt’s commercial and business district had begun receiving guests in August and even witnessed a major surge in business during the Frankfurt Motor Show in September.
The group hosted a major party last week to mark the official opening in the presence of Mayor of Frankfurt, Petra Roth and Jumeirah Frankfurt general manager Dagmar Woodward.
Roth, who was the guest of honour, welcomed Jumeirah 'to the heart of her city' and expressed her delight that 'one of the finest brands in Dubai had come to Frankfurt – an event made even more significant by the fact that the cities are twinned.'
Lawless thanked the Mayor and the people of Frankfurt besides developers MAB and 'most importantly to all Jumeirah colleagues in Frankfurt, Europe and Dubai who helped bring this remarkable property to life and deliver promise of ‘Stay Different’ to guests.'
The 5-star hotel is located at the Thurn-und-Taxis square, in close vicinity to the business district, opera and shopping streets.
Spread over 25 floors and enjoying stunning views over the city, the rooms and suites of the Jumeirah Frankfurt have a minimum size of 35 sq m, making them the largest rooms in the city.-TradeArabia News Service
