MENA Aerospace wins safety recognition
Manama, July 12, 2011
Bahrain-based MENA Aerospace’s operations division, MAE Aircraft Management, has won a certificate of registration for compliance with the International Standards for Business Aircraft Operations (IS-BAO).
Issued by the International Business Aviation Council, the IS-BAO certification is confirmation that the company operates to a code of worldwide best practices designed to help flight departments and business jet operators achieve and maintain the highest levels of safety and quality.
MAE Aircraft Management met these standards as verified through an audit conducted by an independent accredited IS-BAO auditor, a statement said.
“Meeting this world class standard of safety and quality is testament to the hard work and professionalism of the entire team” said Steve Wilks, general manager, MAE Aircraft Management.
“Our charter and aircraft management customers will benefit from the assurance of knowing our operations meet and exceed international best standards,” he added.
Captain Andreas Wieser, the company’s director of flight operations, said: “Prior to the IS-BAO certification, MAE Aircraft Management successfully implemented a safety management system (SMS) as approved by Bahrain Civil Aviation Affairs, and that the company was now targeting the international safety and quality registration for the airline.”
Ralph Eisenschmid, MENA Aerospace Group CEO, said “In addition to the company’s benefits of this accreditation, the IS-BAO approval allows the company to operate and manage aircraft registered in the Cayman Islands and Bermuda.”
“Many aircraft based in the Middle East are registered in these jurisdictions. We see this as a significant opportunity to attract business aircraft to Bahrain given the well-developed regulatory framework implemented by Bahrain’s Civil Aviation Affairs as well as favourable business environment for business and general aviation,” he added.
These standards of quality and safety apply to the entire MAE Aircraft Management fleet which consists of business jets and airliners, the statement said. – TradeArabia News Service
