Abu Dhabi hotel shut down for revamp
Abu Dhabi, June 8, 2011
The City Seasons Al Hamra Hotel in Abu Dhabi is closing its doors this month to undertake extensive refurbishments to the property.
It is expected to re-open for business in time for the Eid Al Fitr holidays, said a statement from the City Seasons Group.
Last year the hotel refurbished 168 rooms and suites as part of its long term renovation plan.
Under the second phase this year it will see the addition of 142 rooms and suites as well as the creation of rooms that are fully wheelchair accessible and adapted for people with mobility difficulties.
The remodeling will also include a complete overhaul of the hotel’s dining outlets which comprises the coffee shop and the all-day dining restaurant as well as the creation of a new Thai restaurant.
There will also be a brand new health club including sauna, steam rooms and massage facilities as well as beauty salon all of which will move to the mezzanine floor to allow for more space.
There will also be a new conferencing and banqueting facility for up to 300 delegates.
"After a busy year we are now ready to undertake phase two of our refurbishment plan and look forward to unveiling some exciting new additions to the property after the summer” said Mohamed Al Aamri, managing director and owner representative of City Seasons Group of Hotels.
“The City Seasons Al Hamra Hotel has always been a firm favourite with both business and leisure travellers but the additional rooms and the creation of a new Thai restaurant will allow the hotel to better cater to the growing demand in the market,” he added.
The hotel is located on Electra Street, in the heart of the bustling capital, a short distance from Abu Dhabi Mall, business and government districts, 20 minutes away from the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Center and 30 minutes from airport.-TradeArabia News Service
