Aloft Abu Dhabi introduces 'Fatboy Room'

Abu Dhabi, May 30, 2011

Aloft, a leading hotel brand owned by Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, has introduced its new Fatboy room at its facility in Abu Dhabi.

Aloft Abu Dhabi, the only lifestyle hotel in the capital, said it has redesigned some of its rooms to be filled with fun and quirky Fatboy gimmicks like oversized bean bags and “Edison the Grand” jumbo lamps to replace common pieces and giving the room an even cooler touch, presenting guests with a new meaning to “urban cool.”

The hotel, which opened in October 2009, was the first Aloft venture to be launched in the Middle East.

True to its style of amusing and playful, Aloft Abu Dhabi has redesigned some of the rooms to bring live the new Fatboy concept.

Commenting on the new room, Stephan Vanden Auweele, general manager said, "Aloft Abu Dhabi is all about having fun and enjoying life and the new Fatboy room is just another way to characterize the Aloft spirit."

"Today’s savvy, design-conscious consumers understand that great style can be both accessible and affordable and Aloft Abu Dhabi is all about making its’ guests’ experience next-generation, seamless and accessible," he noted.

"Extending the liveliness of the new Fatboy rooms’ concept, Aloft Abu Dhabi has designed four different key card layouts exclusive to the Fatboy rooms and has decided to make staying in any of the rooms even more enticing," he noted.

"Work, play, and stay in a Fatboy room and collect all four key card designs to win a free stay in a Fatboy suite," he added.

A vision of W Hotels, Aloft Hotels offer atmospheric public spaces designed to draw guests from their hotel rooms to socialize and make acquaintances.

"Guests can read the paper, work on their laptops using free Wi-Fi or play a game of pool. Aloft gives guests urban flair, convenience and a vibrant social atmosphere," said Auweele.-TradeArabia News Service
