SR Technics, part of Mubadala Aerospace’s global MRO network, has signed an integrated component solutions (ICS) contract worth GBP66.4 million ($101.5 million) with Thomson Airways, the UK's third largest airline.
Under the contract, which runs until 2015, Zurich-based SR Technics, a leading provider of technical services for the aviation sector, will provide component services for a total of 45 aircraft in the Thomson fleet; 29 Boeing 757s and 16 Boeing 767s.
The component services contract encompasses exchange, maintenance, repair, logistics and component management services. An integral part of the service package is the provision of dedicated component consignment stocks and access to SR Technics’ component pool stocks on a flight hour basis.
“We see this agreement as confirmation of the high quality standards that we have delivered in the past and we look forward to continuing our support of the Thomson Airways in the future,” said James Stewart, CEO of SR Technics.
Fraser Ellacott, director of engineering at Thomson Airways said: “It is critical for us to have high quality MRO suppliers that maintain our fleet to the highest standards and in a cost effective manner.
