Europe flights from Bahrain back to normal

Manama, April 22, 2010

Flights from Bahrain to Europe were almost back to normal yesterday, as most airports across the continent were cleared to open.

Gulf Air, British Airways, Lufthansa and KLM all resumed their official schedules,
with the only delay being the early morning Gulf Air flight to Frankfurt, which was postponed until the afternoon.

The breakthrough came after six days of travel chaos all over Europe caused by the dust cloud from an Icelandic volcano.

“We are doing our best to prioritise Gulf Air passengers who have been most
affected by this and have got many passengers home in the last few hours,” Gulf Air said in a statement yesterday afternoon.

“We will continue to offer our assistance with booking new flights to all those caught up in the backlog and hope to clear it as quickly as possible.”

However, Gulf Air passengers holding confirmed tickets are being urged to contact their nearest airline office, their travel agent, the Gulf Air Worldwide Contact Centre on 17335777 or any other Gulf Air number before arriving at airports for check-in.-TradeArabia News Service
