Air Arabia CEO wins top honours

Sharjah, December 13, 2009

The group chief executive officer of Air Arabia, the Mena’s first and largest low-cost carrier, has been named 'Airline CEO of the Year' by Aviation Business magazine, the leading industry title in the Middle East.

Adel Ali received this accolade at the Aviation Business Awards 2009.

This award follows a string of similar regional and international honours, including World LCC 'CEO of the Year 2008' at Budgie Awards in London, which also named Air Arabia 'Best Low-Cost Airline in the Middle East and Africa'.

“On behalf of everyone at Air Arabia, I am honoured to accept this prestigious award,” said Ali.

This year has seen several accolades for Air Arabia strong performance during a challenging period for the global aviation sector. Air Arabia also named 2009 World Airline Award for 'Best Low-Cost Airline in the Middle East' for the third consecutive year by Skytrax Research based on global, independent passenger surveys of airline standards.

Most recently, Air Arabia was named 'Low-Cost Carrier of the Year' by both the Centre for Asia Pacific Aviation (Capa) at the Aviation Outlook Asia 2009 congress in Beijing and at the Doha Aviation Summit 2009.-TradeArabia News Service
