Sega Republic theme park opens at Dubai Mall

Sega Republic, a 76,000 sq ft indoor theme park, opened at The Dubai Mall, the world’s largest shopping and entertainment destination.

The newest leisure attraction at the mall, Sega Republic has been developed by Emaar Retail in association with Japan-based Sega Corporation. Sega Corporation is the creator of numerous world-renowned video games such as the Sonic the Hedgehog series and is currently one of the global leaders in high-tech entertainment.

The theme park is designed to meet the expectations of the youth of the region, and has over 150 amusement games.

“Through our partnership with Sega Corporation, we have brought world-class leisure expertise to the region to ensure that the very best in theme park entertainment is delivered. All the attractions have been thoroughly tested to meet international standards for safety and the operating team has undertaken extensive training to ensure the well-being of every guest,” stated Arif Amiri, chief executive officer, Emaar Retail.

The various attractions are spread over five themed zones – Speed, Adventure, Sports, Cyberpop and Redemption – featuring a huge array of everything from action packed motion-simulators to simulated sports games, classic carnival games and one of the region’s largest selections of prize-winning redemption games.

Special introductory offers are also available to celebrate the opening.

The opening of the indoor theme park’s follows the recent launch of Reel Cinemas, a 22-screen megaplex with more than 2,800 seats. KidZania, an award winning ‘edu-tainment’ concept that provides children role-playing experiences in a scaled-down version of a city, will also open later this year.-TradeArabia News Service
