UK airline opens Bahrain sales office

Manama, June 21, 2009

London Heathrow's second largest airline bmi has announced the opening of its sales and reservations office in Bahrain in partnership with Al Kaatib Travel Agency.

With more than 70 years of aviation experience, bmi has been operating from the Middle East for four years, starting with Riyadh, but now boasts a network that includes Jeddah, Dammam, Cairo, Beirut, Amman, Damascus, Aleppo and Tehran, all of which operate direct to London Heathrow.

'Bahrain and the Middle East in general is very important to bmi, and for this reason we have changed our representation model to ensure we have strong partners who know the markets and the needs of the business-purpose traveller, and in Bahrain, we have found this with Al Kaatib Travel Agency,' said bmi Middle East and Africa general manager Max Hunt.

'We have many customers travelling to the UK and USA, and by representing bmi in Bahrain we have a wide range of options to offer our clients,' said Al Kaatib Travel's Shaikh Bader Al Khalifa.

'With daily flights in conjunction with our code-share partner Gulf Air, we can offer ideal travel options for the business and leisure traveller,' Hunt said.

In addition, our customers can fly easily from Dammam on the bmi-operated service three times a week' he added.-TradeArabia News Service
