Adac showcases first private jet airport in Geneva

Abu Dhabi Airports Company (Adac) is promoting the region's first private jet airport at the European Business Aviation Conference and Exhibition (Ebace) in Geneva, which is being held from May 12 to 14.

Al Bateen Executive Airport is the first and only exclusive luxury business jet airport in the Middle East and North Africa (Mena) region.

The convenience of its location, in the heart of the city centre, makes it very attractive for busy business travelers’ in the capital city and an ideal access point for the rest of business travelers’ in the GCC and Menaregions, said an Adac official.

The airport is already accepting aircraft, providing full Fixed Based Operator services (FBO) and upgraded facilities at the new terminal including aircraft parking and maintenance spaces for more than 50 aircrafts. It is currently in final stages of undergoing UAE General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) certification.

The airport which is being designed to be of the highest standards will also feature four premium lounges, first-class catering, quick and efficient turnaround times and the highest quality of passenger services.

“We are very proud of Al Bateen Executive Airport, and we know there is increasing demand for the type of facility that we offer with our exclusive business jet airport. The airport also offers aircraft travelling between Europe and Asia the ideal stop for maintenance and refuelling,” stated Mohammed Al Bulooki, vice president of Airline Marketing and Aeronautical Revenue at Adac.

Adac is in the process of upgrading its facilities to the tune of Dh200 million in order to meet the increasing needs of the private and business jet market within the region.

Existing operators, already operating out of the airport, include Falcon Aviation and Prestige Jet, two of a number of corporate jet companies that are meeting the increase in demand for private aviation as they continue to add aircraft to their existing fleet.

Future developments at the airport include securing additional airport land to create new airside, landside, and facility space.

Adac will manage the Dh200 million ($55 million) investment to upgrade the airfield, which will include the acquiring of new equipment, improvements to the terminal as well as landside access and parking.-TradeArabia News Service
