Swiss airline to highlight innovation

Swiss International Air Lines (Swiss), the national carrier of Switzerland, is set to showcase the latest innovation on its products at an upcoming travel market show.

Arabian Travel Market takes place from May 5 to 8 at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre.

Top executives of Swiss from the head office in Switzerland as well as from UAE, Oman and Saudi Arabia will unveil the new product during the show.

The airline, named the 'Best Airline: Europe’ for its short- and long-haul flights by the prestigious Skytrax 2009, has also released its summer schedule offering more choice for customers which will serve 90 destinations in 42 countries.

For travellers from the Middle East, attractive offers for Swiss economy, Swiss business and Swiss first class are now available providing more enticing options whether for leisure or business travels.

New European destinations from Zurich in its summer timetable include Oslo, Norway and Lyon, France. Malta also joins the Swiss network, with a new daily codeshare service to and from Zurich operated by Air Malta.

The new schedules bring innovations to Swiss services to Spain, and passengers from and to New York will be the first to.

Dubai will be the second market to enjoy the new Airbus A330-300 in July, after New York receives it in April.

For passengers from the Middle East who are travelling with Schengen visa, Swiss offers faster connections. The abolition of security and passport checks for transfer passengers using the Schengen Pier will save travellers additional time.

Swiss operates non-stop daily flights from Dubai to Zurich, daily flights from Muscat, Oman, five weekly flights from Cairo and four weekly flights from Riyadh and Jeddah. – TradeArabia News Service
