Ramee to spend $1.4bn for 15 new hotels

Ramee Group of hotels has planned to spend Dh5 billion ($1.4 billion) in 15 new hotels in the Middle East and India, a senior company official said in a report.

Of these, there will be three five-star properties in Dubai, four in Bahrain and three hotels in India, according to the Gulf News report.

'Of these, Dh2.7 billion will be invested in the UAE, Dh1.3 billion in Bahrain and a further Dh1 billion in India,' Raj Shetty, chairman and managing worker of Ramee Group, was quoted as saying in the report.

The Group operates 31 mid-sized properties in the region and India, which include both three-star and four-star categories.

The new properties will belong to four and five-star luxury category.
