Gulf Air plans extra summer flights

Manama, April 9, 2008

Gulf Air, the national carrier for the Kingdom of Bahrain, is introducing additional flights and upgrading others across its network to facilitate convenient travel for its passengers during the peak summer season.

Gulf Air is adding three additional flights to Bangkok, Dhaka, Athens, while adding two extra evening flights to Istanbul, a fifth Cyprus service and upgrading certain Middle East flights, including Cairo, Damascus, Beirut and Khartoum.

“We want to give our customers greater travel options during summer 2008,” says Gulf Air chief executive officer Bjorn Naf.

“Being the most punctual airline in the region, we are confident that with the additional flights our customers can look forward to a fulfilling journey with an airline that aims to be the carrier of choice.

Gulf Air’s vice president network Hashim Mahmood said the additional flights give customers multiple travel options, better than any other carrier, with convenient connections across the region.

The new additional capacity will also boost the traffic flow to and from Shanghai, which will be launched in June, in line with the peak summer movements.

“Our network is designed to serve our customers in the best possible way and we are confident that our customers will further witness this during the peak summer months.”-TradeArabia News Service
