Dubai, February 27, 2008
Manager of Mohammed Bin Rashid Programme for Leadership Development (MBRPLD) Adel Al Shared hosted vice-president of Boeing Leadership Centre Julie Acosta at the Executive Office where he provided her a detailed overview of MBRPLD’s objectives, framework and plans for 2008.
MBRPLD is an innovative leadership programme designed to develop future national leaders capable of promoting the sustainable development of the UAE.
Prior to her meeting with Al Shared, Acosta met UAE’s Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs and chairman of the Executive Office Mohammed Al Gergawi and discussed various initiatives and projects underway in Dubai that aim to develop male and female national human resources.
Al Gergawi also highlighted the efforts of various parties in Dubai to nurture young UAE Nationals who have the potential to be visionary leaders of tomorrow.
Acosta also met Dubai Executive Council Secretary General Ahmad bin Bayat and discussed possible ways of cooperation between Boeing Leadership Centre and Dubai Government in the field of development of leaders in line with the Dubai Strategic Plan 2015.
'It is our aim to provide nationals with the best training possible, and prepare them for the future task of sustaining the socio-economic success the country has achieved. Making long-term investments for the development of our human capital is an integral part of Dubai Government’s vision,' said Bayat.
'MBRPLD has prepared a very active schedule for 2008 in view of the increasing need to develop a deeper pool of world-class leaders. Over the years we have successfully provided nationals with qualifications that enhance their capabilities in the excellence and leadership fields; we intend to continue to support all official authorities in the country and ensure that their HR initiatives benefit from the expertise of the programme,” said Al Shared.
The long-term training programme, widely recognised for its critical role in the professional development of government leaders, has also been bolstered by alliances with world-class institutions Duke Corporate Education and Insead, the business school of the world, to develop MBRPLD's comprehensive training structure and beef up its educational resources.
“I haven’t come across a more comprehensive programme for leadership development anywhere in the world,” said Acosta.
Acosta also expressed her keenness to benefit from the resources and components of the MBRPLD, and conveyed her desire to collaborate with the Programme for future initiatives. – TradeArabia News Service
