IHG names global account manager

InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG), the world’s most global hotel operator, has appointed Sherif A.Omar as its first global account manager, travel industry, Saudi Arabia.

This is part of the group’s expansion of the newly-structured global sales team based in Dubai.

Omar joins IHG with more than seven years’ experience in the tourism trade, primarily working within agencies, consultancies, and wholesalers in the UAE and Egypt, as well as for over four years in KSA.

Omar’s main role will be to identify new business opportunities through key accounts from the main players within the travel industry in Saudi Arabia and the Middle East by promoting IHG’s 3,800 hotels globally.

With over 50 per cent of IHG’s outbound business from the Middle East coming from KSA, his role is vital in highlighting the group’s seven hotel brands offered internationally, said an official spokesman. – TradeArabia News Service
