Virgin Atlantic names PSA

Manama, August 24, 2007

Virgin Atlantic Airways has appointed Dadabhai Travel as its passenger sales agent (PSA) for Bahrain.

The appointment is part of the airline's plan to open PSAs around the GCC, said Virgin's regional manager for Middle East and Indian Ocean, Andrew Fyfe.

Virgin is planning for travel trade training and other activities in Bahrain next month, said Dadabhai Travel general manager Vijay Menon.

A seminar will be held on September 5, to be conducted by Dubai-based passenger sales manager Bimal Jain.

Virgin currently flies to 29 destinations worldwide, said Menon.

Presently Virgin operates London-Dubai-London daily service with connection to almost all their destinations across the trans-Atlantic routes to US and the Caribbean, he said.

'Virgin is known for its in-flight entertainment service, fully flat bed in business class and more comfortable leather seats in premium economy, said Menon.

Virgin flies from London to Sydney, Tokyo, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Delhi, Mumbai, Lagos, Johannesburg, Cape Town and Nairobi. Flights to Mauritius will start on October 29.

Malaysia-based Air Asia has also appointed Dadabhai Travel as its distributor in Bahrain.

Air Asia, which is one of the largest low cost airlines in Asia, earlier announced its plans to fly to Bahrain.
