The 10th World Green Economy Summit (WGES) will feature global experts, government representatives, international organisations, academics, and the media.

 

Scheduled for 2-3 October 2024 at the Dubai World Trade Centre, the summit aims to enhance international cooperation and foster dialogue on environmental and economic objectives, as well as building a sustainable and inclusive future, reported WAM.

 

WGES 2024 will focus on key themes aimed at advancing the transition towards a green and sustainable economy. These include decarbonisation and net zero goals, clean energy advancements, climate finance, circular economy, policy and regulatory frameworks, using technology to tackle climate change, youth in climate change, and food and water.

 

Through its various sessions, the summit will provide a platform for dialogue, highlighting the most crucial forward-looking sustainable solutions based on innovation and the latest technologies. These discussions aim to support collective global efforts in climate and environmental action and promote the advancement of the global green economy.

 

Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Vice Chairman of the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy, MD and CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), and Chairman of the World Green Economy Organization (WGEO), said, “Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, we aim to foster global cooperation by providing a platform that unites stakeholders from around the world. Al Mazrouei further noted that the Summit is a valuable opportunity to enhance global dialogue and experience sharing, as experts and decision makers from across the world come together to find the best approach to shifting to a green economy.
