DUBAI, December 8, 2018
Global pioneers in the district cooling sector from the US, Canada and Europe will be in Dubai, UAE, this week at a major industry event where they will discuss ways to develop effective energy for smarter cities in the region.
The eighth International District Cooling Conference & Tradeshow kicks off in Dubai tomorrow (December 9) under the theme ‘Effective Energy for Smarter Cities’ at the Atlantis The Palm, Dubai.
Being hosted in Dubai by Emirates Central Cooling Systems Corporation (Empower), the world’s largest district cooling services provider, for the third time, it is being organised by the US-based Idea.
An in-depth, special master class on microgrids will be one of the pre-event highlights of the event, said the organisers.
Ted Borer of Princeton University and Borer Energy Engineering will deliver an intensive course designed for experienced energy professionals seeking advanced guidance on industry best practices in operating mission-critical microgrids.
Borer is a globally recognized expert on the design, construction, operation and optimization of mission-critical microgrids, serving institutions, healthcare, research campuses and communities.
He is renowned for his expertise in microgrids, having been involved in key major projects in the US. During the master class, he will share his expertise in operating microgrids for enhanced resiliency and efficiency.
Empower CEO Ahmad Bin Shafar said: "This workshop will bring one-of-a-kind learning experience to all the attendees who are looking for implementing a microgrid to ensure business continuity in their organisations. It is beneficial for those aiming to improve their processes to keep up with contemporary needs."
"A welcome reception and ribbon cutting with business partner exhibitors will also be held after the master class on the first day of the Idea Conference and Tradeshow that will gather global stakeholders and pioneers in the district cooling sector," stated Bin Shafar.
The event will become a platform where a group of district energy industry experts from the US, Canada and Europe will take part in the high-level exchange with the Middle East and Asia Pacific, he said.
"This is the third time we are hosting the event, reflecting anew the company’s international prominence as the largest district cooling services provider in the world," he added.-TradeArabia News Service
