Rowan inks jack up lease contract with Saudi Aramco

RIYADH, June 21, 2018

Rowan Companies, a global provider of contract drilling services, said that the Bob Palmer, a Super Gorilla XL Class jack-up rig has been leased to ARO Drilling for a three-year contract with oil giant Saudi Aramco.

ARO Drilling, a joint venture between Rowan Companies and Saudi Aramco, is a world-class offshore drilling contractor that owns, operates, and manages a fleet of five premium self-elevating jack-up rigs in Saudi Arabia.

The Bob Palmer was operating for Saudi Aramco in Saudi Arabia and will now do so through ARO Drilling to fulfill a three-year contract awarded by Saudi Aramco.

A major player in the region, Rowan Companies boasts a fleet of 27 mobile offshore drilling units, comprising 23 self-elevating jack-up rigs and four ultra-deepwater drillships.

Its fleet operates worldwide, including the US Gulf of Mexico, the UK and Norwegian sectors of the North Sea, the Middle East, and Trinidad.-TradeArabia News Service
