Oman LNG to revamp plant for spare capacity

MUSCAT, October 29, 2017

Oman LNG plans to undertake further improvement at its plant in a bid to receive and process additional feed gas volumes, a report said.

A contract for the Front-End Engine Design (FEED) for the project was awarded to the US-based consultancy firm KBR few months ago, reported Times of Oman.

“Additionally, due to differences in feed gas forms, such as in BP Khazzan, there are some upgrades required to the plant, which would allow it to run smoothly,” said Harib Al Kitani, chief executive officer of Oman LNG, was quoted as saying in the report.

Oman LNG is currently operating at around 82 per cent of its production capacity nameplate of 10.4 million tonnes per annum (mtpa), he added.
