DUBAI, August 23, 2017
Emirates Central Cooling Systems Corporation (Empower), the world’s largest district cooling services provider, has announced energy savings of 5.2 per cent in the second month of its summer campaign compared to the same period last year.
“As the leading district cooling services provider, we’re proud of the savings generated in the second month of our summer campaign. At Empower, we want to create an environment that will allow us to achieve the vision of the UAE leadership and help us support the businesses and people in the country benefit from a sustainable development,” said Ahmad Bin Shafar, CEO of Empower.
While the ‘Smile at 24 degrees’ campaign helps decrease the energy consumed for cooling, it also protects the environment, lowers the carbon footprint and plays a modest role in helping the UAE realise its vision for a sustainable economy.
“At Empower, our customers are looking for air conditioning that can provide them with cooling comfort that is reliable and affordable. Our campaign not only offers a perfect equation of maintaining temperatures with easy-to-follow steps, but also provides reduced operating and maintenance costs and substantial efficiency,” added Ahmad Bin Shafar.
Customers using Empower’s district cooling solutions in the past few months noted substantial savings, which is achieved by leveraging on economies of scale, optimising asset efficiency and upholding operational excellence. In the UAE, more than 69 district cooling plants of Empower prevent the release of thousands of tons of CO2 annually by reducing carbon emissions as well as electricity consumption by almost 50 per cent as compared to conventional cooling.
“In the second month of running our summer campaign, we’ve recorded substantial savings which is an indication of customer’s trust in our programs. We are extremely pleased with their cooperation and would encourage them to continue the positive momentum by following the easy-to-implement steps outlined in the campaign regularly,” concluded Ahmad Bin Shafar. - TradeArabia News Service
