Malaysian firms eye Iran oil sector: minister

Malaysian firms have showed interest in investing in Iran's oil industry, Iranian Oil Minister Bijan Namdar Zanganeh was quoted as saying in an Iran Daily report.

Zanganeh said during a meeting with Malaysia's Minister of International Trade and Industry Mustapa Mohamed that Iran welcomes Malaysian firms including Petronas Company which has had cooperation with Iran for years, the report said, citing Irna.

Small Malaysian companies are also willing to invest in Iran, he noted, adding that they should prove their financial capability.

He said the two countries will hold more talks and feasibility studies for the purpose.
