BP Oman tie-up to promote green energy awareness

MUSCAT, October 18, 2016

BP Oman recently signed an agreement with Nafath Energy, a renewable energy company, to promote understanding of sustainable energy among college and university students, a report said.

The Social Investment Programme (SIP) aims to educate 100 students through workshops held by Nafath Energy, reported Oman Observer.

Nafath Energy will organise two five-day workshops to college and university students in Al Dakhiliyah and Al Dhahirah, providing information on various energy sources, including the renewables industry in Oman.

It will also highlight the latest developments in solar and wind power and have the opportunity to get hands-on experience in the design and installation of a hybrid renewable energy system.

“BP Oman is supporting this initiative as part of our vision to develop young Omanis and local Omani companies. In this energy intensive world, we’re keen to encourage the next generation to understand the role of renewable energy sources — it’s just one of the ways we are investing in the future of Oman,” Shabib al Maamari, communication and external affairs manager, BP Oman, was quoted as saying in the report.
