Iran plans 10 new petchem projects by March 2017

TEHRAN, June 1, 2016

Iran plans to establish 10 new petrochemical complexes by March 2017, said a senior official.

The head of National Petrochemical Company (NPC) Marzieh Shahdaei made the remarks at the inauguration of the sulfuric acid production unit of Orumieh Petrochemical Complex in northwest Iran, said an Iran Daily report, citing Shana.

Shahdaei further added that the private sector is scheduled to invest $20 million in the potassium sulphate production unit of Orumieh Petrochemical Complex which will have an annual production capacity of 40,000 tonnes.

She noted that some of the new petrochemical complexes are located along the West Ethylene Pipeline.

Shahdaei said that a chain of other production units including the production units of ammonium sulphate and potassium sulphate can also be added to the Orumieh Petrochemical Complex.
