Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation (Kahramaa) has launched a mega project to monitor its electricity distribution network in a bid to prevent outages, a report said.

The monitoring for asset management of 11kV Electricity Distribution Network, which serves households, would have the capability to sense the conditions that could cause large-scale power supply disruptions, explained The Peninsula report.

The scale of the above project is being considered as first of its kind in the GCC region as a whole covering the entire Electricity Distribution Network, the report said, citing a Kahramaa release.
