Technical issue halts output at Natpet unit

RIYADH, January 12, 2016

Saudi Arabia's Alujain Corporation said that output had stopped the previous day at a petrochemicals plant owned by its subsidiary in Yanbu Industrial City after a sudden technical problem.

The subsidiary, Natpet's Propylene and Polypropylene Complex, was dealing with the problem and production was expected to resume within nine days, Alujain said in a bourse filing.

The financial impact of the stoppage would be around SR10.5 million ($2.8 million), which will be reflected in Alujain's first-quarter financial results, it added.

Alujain holds 57.4 percent of shares in Natpet's Propylene and Polypropylene Complex. - Reuters
