3 Iranian petchem units near completion

Iran’s Oil Ministry has said that the construction of three petrochemical projects is nearing completion, with the projects to come on stream in the coming months, according to a report.
The projects include the phase 2 of Kavian Petrochemical plant, Takht-e Jamshid Petrochemical complex and the development project of Lorestan Petrochemical's linear, low and high density polyethylene plant, which have been fully completed, said the Trend News Agency report.
The three plants will come on stream in the current Iranian fiscal year in case of providing feedstock, it said.
Kavian Petrochemical plant is a large ethylene producing unit. On completion of phase 2 of this complex, its total production capacity will exceed two million tonnes per year.
Meanwhile, about 99 per cent of the first phase of the power plant of Damavand Petrochemical Company and the mono ethylene glycol (MEG) unit of Morvarid Petrochemical plant, have been completed.
Other projects nearly completion include Karoon Petrochemical Plant's second phase; Marvdasht Petrochemical Plant; and heavy and light polyethylene units of Mahabad Petrochemical Plant.
